The Gentle Needle. How to Treat Children By Julian Scott This is an introduction to needle technique, It is based on a special child-friendly technique. The DVD features a lecture-style introduction to needling technique used for infants and children, based on what Julian Scott learned from study with Zhang CaiYun. Discussions cover preparation of the clinic, point location, needling technique, insertion methods, arrival of Qi, techniques for tonification, dispersion, and moving the Qi, retaining the needle, closing the Qi hole, moxa and supplemental techniques, and managing children who are hyperactive, nervous, frightened, strong or weak. Presentation includes some photos of children exhibiting particular symptomology. Includes practical advice on how to cope with children crying. This DVD finishes with video clips of actual treatments. Note this DVD is in PAL format for Australia & UK. For US & Canada, it can only be played in Computer (PC).

About the Author: Julian Scott have been practising Chinese medicine for more than 30 years. His teacher in China was Dr. Jiang Cai-Yun. She was one of those rare people who are both clever and compassionate. One day she told Julian “There are many people who do not come to acupuncture because they fear the pain of the needles. I will show you a needle technique that does not cause pain.” It is this technique which has made it possible to treat children, and is the subject of the DVD ‘The Gentle needle’. Julian has been happy to teach it to many of students worldwide.
