Baby Bliss

The benefits of baby yoga are endless and it is great for parents, grandparents and carers alike. With stimulating eye contact baby yoga helps nurture a greater responsiveness and deeper bonding between carer and baby, whilst on a physiological level it is stimulating all the systems within the baby’s body simultaneously. Baby yoga also helps the parent or carer feel more confident and involved with the child.

'Baby Bliss' demonstrates baby yoga and massage. There are many 'Mother and Baby' Yoga DVD's on the market, (which offer post natal yoga for the mums with the baby present), but 'Baby Bliss' is unique because it is not post natal yoga, it is specifically for the baby. Instructor Zoe says "I can honestly say, from personal experience and putting yoga to the test, in my classes and with my four babies, that the sequences I will guide viewers through will be enjoyable, helpful and fun!"

Included within the DVD are three unique sequences:

  • Baby yoga : 12 minutes
  • Baby yoga and Massage : 20 minutes
  • Playtime yoga for more active older babies : 10 minutes

Baby yoga is wonderful for all carers and it can also be particularly helpful if your baby has been separated from you at birth in the hospital and you feel you missed out on that early bonding time. It can also be very helpful to mothers suffering from post natal depression as it offers a guided activity to do with a creature who is otherwise really too young to do much more than sleep, feed or cry!!!

  • Baby yoga & massage helps nurture a deeper bond between carer and baby.
  • Baby Yoga stimulates all the systems within the baby's body simultaneously.
  • The digestive system is stimulated to relive colic and wind.
  • The respiratory system is stimulated to aid lung development and breathing.
  • Muscles and joints are mobilized to activate and strengthen the baby's muscles and tissue.
  •  By relaxing the baby through yoga and massage a more quality sleep can be achieved.

After travelling the world as both a marine photojournalist and scuba diving instructor, Zoe decided to become a yoga teacher. This was because it embodied two of her greatest passions - yoga and teaching. Zoe started training with an apprenticeship in Iyengar yoga. Then, after teaching for a few years, she continued completing a teacher training program in pranayama, meditation, Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga.

As a mother of four and a teacher of baby yoga for many years, Zoe has found that yoga has helped her children as much as me to thrive. Baby yoga is a particularly beautiful way to bond and spend time with a young baby and can be started as young as newborn.

My vision for 'Baby Bliss' is that parents, grandparents and carers will get great joy from using the DVD to guide them through a structured activity that is fun and engaging at the same time as having amazing physiological benefits. The reality is, when babies are really little, they don't do much more than sleep, feed and cry so a DVD that you can follow in the comfort of your own home at a time that best suits you (and your erratic sleep pattern!) can be a wonderful way of bonding and spending time with your new baby. I am immensely proud of Baby Bliss' as I know everyone will love the activities but I also know it will help parents through the tougher patches when they are struggling with sleep deprivation and adjusting to a totally new way of life or a new number of children. It is at times like these that a short interactive activity such as baby yoga and massage can help you connect with your baby and really indulge in the good bits of having a beautiful newborn!
