The Basics

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, “Qi” or "Chi" is the basic substance of the body as well as the animating life force that gives body the capacity to move, think and feel. The ‘Qi’ flow through the body within invisible channel networks called “Jin Lou” or Meridians. Within this network, there are many “gates or windows” known as “Xue” – the Acu points which have a higher sensitivity. Because of the meridian system bridges the internal with the external and inter-link every parts of body, stimulating Acu points become basis of Traditional Chinese Medicine which delivers effective results in affecting internal organ or remote area by simply applying pressure onto certain points over the body surface.

There are various style of Chinese Massage, most of them attempt to restore the flow of Qi. There are three types of common Chinese manual therapy or massage:
  • Dian Xue – The Acupressure, which involves pressing the Acu points on meridians for removing “Qi” blockages.
  • An Mo – The Press and Rub techniques on muscles for muscular problems and or relaxation.
  • Tui Na – The Push and Grab techniques on tendons and joints for physical injuries.
