Overcoming Repetitive Motion Injuries the Rossiter Way
by Richard Rossiter

This book presents a rehabilitative stretching system that has been taught to thousands of workers in companies ranging from Fortune 500 businesses to small manufacturers. This system is unique in that it is designed to stretch the body's network of connective tissue. Unlike many other forms of deep-tissue bodywork, Rossiter's stretches are easy to teach and learn, and require no more equipment than a partner, a soft mat, and a chair.

The Rossiter System teaches you how to stretch your body's connective tissue to get rid of pain quickly in the upper body, low back, knees, ankles and feet. Much of the pain created by repetitive stress/repetitive motion injuries at work, sports or hobbies can be alleviated by using these two-person stretches . They are based on four "constants" that help the body work and heal: Communication, Food, Movement and Space.

The Rossiter System eases, relieves and prevents pain because it directly tackles the causes of pain. Tightness, pain, throbbing, aching and limited movement in muscles and joints occur because surrounding connective tissue has shortened and tightened from overuse and repetition. The Rossiter System's stretching techniques loosen entire areas of connective tissue, restore mobility and circulation. The result -- effective pain relief and free movement.

In contrast, the solutions offered by traditional medicine for carpal tunnel syndrome, back pain and structural aches/pains often address the symptoms but never get at the causes of pain. Rarely is the relief permanent, forcing people to remain on drugs, wear splints constantly or undergo repeated cortisone shots and surgeries -- all of which have potentially disabling side effects.

Richard Rossiter is an innovator and connective tissue therapist who created these powerful stretching techniques as the result of his own painful injuries and rehabilitation.

Youthful hockey injuries and wartime injuries suffered as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam combined in Rossiter's late 20s to produce shoulders that were so painful he feared he would no longer be able to fly commercial helicopters in Alaska.

That's when he discovered Rolfing
®, a form of bodywork that focuses on lengthening and restoring the body's connective tissue. Once he discovered the benefits of Rolfing in relieving his own pain, Rossiter applied to the Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colo. He graduated from the institute in record time, eventually becoming a certified advanced Rolfer.

He then established a Rolfing
® practice in Little Rock, Ark., and soon began accepting clients referred to him by a Little Rock neurosurgeon. Many were people suffering from several carpal tunnel syndrome and other cumulative trauma disorders - chronic, difficult problems for which the neurosurgeon had few treatment options except potentially risky surgeries.

He created
The Rossiter System®, a highly evolved series of stretches that allow his principles and pain-relief approaches to be used virtually without limit in the workplace by trained employees and supportive managers. See Richard's website:
